For pecan and shortbread lovers ;-)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix flour, sugar, butter, salt and pecans. Press dough evenly into the bottom of a greased 8x8 inch baking dish and bake until golden, about 30 to 35 minutes.
Cool slightly, cut in to desired serving sizes and remove from baking dish.
Source: Can't remember for certain but I think it was a Martha Stewart recipe.

Should the butter be cold so that it can be cut in to the other ingredients?
Hi Maryeileen. I've always cut the butter in to 'pats' straight from the fridge and by the time I have everything else set up and ready to go, the butter has softened enough to mix, no need to cut in. It just makes it easier to have 'pats' to drop in rather than one large lump of butter. :-)
