Put Toothpicks in a Spice JarTo keep tooth picks clean and organized place them in an empty spice jar. One that has the sprinkle top spices and big enough holes for a toothpick to fit through. Just shake out toothpicks one at a time.
Use Styrofoam in Large PotsPlanting large flower pots. Use styrofoam to fill the pots half way. This provides good drainage and makes it easier to move the pots.
Vinegar for OdorsThe cheapest way to remove odors from a room is to place cups of white vinegar in the room. It works 24/7 and all you have to do is refill when it evaporates. I use old candle jars that have been used up so that it does not interfere with the decor of each room.
Prevent Buildup of Scale in HumidifiersPut vinyl magnets in the well of humidifiers and it will prevent buildup of scale. Use Refrigerator pictures, Magnetic Calendars/business cards etc. I have used this in both Furnace and Room units.
Make Your Own Laundry Soap With Dish SoapI use Ajax, Dawn or Joy dish soap to wash my clothes. It's cheaper than Tide. Mix it 7 to 1 (Water to dish soap) in your empty laundry detergent bottle.
