Buying Out of Season Can Save BIGI know it is only March, but I am finding HUGE sales on sweaters, since stores want to get in the spring fashion. For those friends or family members I know I will be getting a fall/winter/Christmas/Birthday gift for.
Planter Bedroom WastebasketLast weekend, when we purchased a new-to-us oak bedroom suite, I thought it would be a great idea to get a new wastebasket that also would look as great in the room as the new furniture. NOT... There are no wastebaskets to be found in our town that are an oak finish.
Buttercup (Pekingese) Our Precious Pup!Hi! This is Buttercup, our new pekingese puppy. She is 4 months old in this picture. She enjoys getting in trouble any chance she gets! Her face is so cute, that we have a hard time staying mad at her!She makes our heart melt everytime she looks up at us with those big bulgy eyes. She is also adored by my 8 yr. old son, Jacob, who named her Buttercup, because he said her soft fur is the color of butter!

Honey Oatmeal FacialPut 1/2 cup oats and 1/2 cup honey in a blender and mix until it becomes a paste. To use, massage 2 tablespoons of the mixture on your face. Let the mixture sit on your face for a few minutes, then rinse well.
Storing OnionsYou can hang onions in the basement, garage, or coldest room in the house and they will keep longer. I tie the onions in old pantyhose and seperate them with a twisty tie so they are aired well and I can reuse the hose for next time or to filter oil or something.

Draining Juice from CansWhen opening a can of ANYTHING with juice in it (such as tuna or vegetables), only open 1/3 of can with can opener and grip the handle firmly, then tip over can above sink to drain the juice. Then finish opening the can- with no spills! (Only works with a manual can opener!)

Wealth of WisdomOne man said, "I had a brain scan and was told not worry --there was nothing there!" Which is all right because some of my best ideas over the years have come from others, anyway. And I have discovered that wisdom can be found in most any place and from most any person -- even the youngest of us

Oven Rack Height When Baking? After all these years I wondered if I am bakig my cookies on the right oven height. I have been using the 2nd notch from the bottom and today tried the 1st notch on the bottom. I know some recipes call for using the middle rack. I never have known if the top notch was for broiling or if the 2nd from the top was for broiling. Anyone know?

Food TV Currently On "Economical" Kick? One recipe I tried and was excellent was Osso Bucco Stoup (thick, but not too thick). I figured it costs about $6.00 for approximately 10 adult servings. It can be found in the show "30 Minute Meals". I know it aired at least on 2/26/05, but other times too, I'm sure. If you don't find it, I'm happy to submit it.
