Applesauce Drop DoughnutsCombine first 4 ingredients in a large bowl; beat at medium speed until blended. Combine flour and next 5 ingredients; add to sugar mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Stir in applesauce and vanilla.
Kentucky Ham 'n Angel BiscuitsCombine yeast and warm water; let stand 5 minutes. Add buttermilk, and set aside. Combine flour and next 3 ingredients in a large bowl; cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal.
Grapefruit DrinkCombine sugar and 4 cup water in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool. Combine syrup, grapefruit juice, and next 3 ingredients.

Getting Dishes UnstuckWhen two dishes are stuck, one nested in the other, pour cold water in the top dish while dipping the bottom dish in warm water. The warm water will make the bottom dish expand while the top dish contracts. Works with glasses and bowls.
