Chicken DiableRemove skin, melt butter in shallow baking dish. Roll chicken in butter mixture and coat both sides. Arrange meat in a single layer in same pan.

 

Recipe For A Cold Depressing DayCombine all ingredients except book. Insert candy cane (use to stir with). Make yourself comfortable and cover yourself with a warm cozy throw. Read your book and enjoy your coffee.

 

Glazed DoughnutsMix together sugar, salt, butter, mashed potatoes, eggs, scalded milk. Let mixture stand until lukewarm and add yeast. Mix in flour.

 

Versatile Coating MixCombine the first 10 ingredients in a bowl. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Store in airtight container in cool dry place or freeze for up to 6 months.

 

Pork Chops With RicePreheat oven to 350 degrees F. Wipe chops with damp paper towels. Slowly heat large, heavy skillet until hot (about medium high). Brown chops, about 10 minutes on each side.

Asparagus Peking StyleHeat pan and add oil. Add remainder of ingredients except asparagus. Cook until it comes to a boil. Shut off flame or move pan off ring. Now add asparagus and toss lightly.

 

Puff BallsBoil sugar, syrup, water, butter and salt until it spins a long thread. Add vanilla and pour over popcorn and other puffs. It doesn't take long to make, about 10-15 minutes.

 

Homemade Silly PuttyMix the white glue and food coloring together in a small bowl. Pour liquid cornstarch into a small second bowl. Slowly pour the glue mixture on top of the liquid cornstarch.

 

Look For Stationery At Thrift StoresDid you know that, among other things, that you can find elegant stationery and greeting cards at thrift shops? Now that cards have gotten so expensive, I stock up whenever I see them, so that I have some on hand for every occasion!

 

Protecting Sheets of StampsKeep stamps from sticking together by storing them in-between sheets of wax paper. Wax paper also works well for saving stickers, just put them on the shiny side of the wax paper.

 

Use A Floor Squeegee For Removing Snow On Your CarI bought a floor squeegie at the dollar store. The long handle makes it easy to clean the top off the car, and the squeegie really cleans the windows off great, removes all that nasty salt.

 

Using Found Items For Garden DecorI used an old wheelbarrow by drilling holes in the bottom for drainage, throw in some gravel then top w/soil and plants. Plants that hang off the sides look great and something big and flashy in the middle.

 

Make Covers for Festive PillowsI did not want to have store snowman pillows so I made covers for them. I use them all year.

 

Decorate Your Child's ToothbrushInstead of buying an expensive character toothbrush for your child to brush their teeth, I find sticking character stickers on the handle of a plain, inexpensive toothbrush less costly and just as effective.

 

Sandal KeyholderTake the dowel and kinda turn and push at the same time into bottom of sandal to make a hole. Then put glue in the hole and reinsert the dowel.

 

Use Wet Toothpicks To Sow SeedsIt is "sow" (pardon the pun) hard to sow small seeds into seed planters trying to get a head start on outdoor plants. But I had wooden toothpicks separating the seeds and I just wet the toothpick and a single seed would stick to it and I could then put it where I wanted it.
