Squash and ApplesButter a flat glass baking dish 8x12 inch. Peel and slice squash 1/2 inch thick and lay in baking dish. Core, but do not peel, apples, slice on top of squash.

 

Chocolate CookieBeat eggs and add milk and oil. Mix together Bisquick and instant pudding (any flavor can be used) and add to egg mixture. Add chocolate chips and nuts and mix well.

 

Carrot-Raisin Chicken SaladPlace carrots, raisins, water and ginger in a 1-1/2 quart casserole. Cover with lid or vented plastic wrap. Microwave on HIGH 4 minutes or until carrots are crisp-tender.

 

Butter-Glazed Root VegetablesCut small turnips (2 inch in diameter) in half; quarter or eighth larger turnips. Diagonally slice carrots and parsnips 1/2 inch thick. Cut large slices in half lengthwise.

 

Salty Nut CandyButter 9x13 inch pan. Sprinkle 1/2 jar or peanuts in pan. Melt 4 Tbsp. margarine and peanut butter chips in microwave. Remove from heat.

 

Fisherman's Quick FishA simple no-fail fish recipe. Any firm white fish fillets such as Scrod, Walleye, or Halibut, may be used. Preheat oven to 500 degrees F (260 degrees C). Coat a 9x13 inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. In a medium bowl, marinate the fish fillets in the salad dressing for a few minutes.

Refilling Laundry Detergent DispensersI buy the economy size jugs of laundry detergent to refill a button-spout type jug for ease of dispensing the soap. I've found that pouring the soap from the regular type jug into the one that has the button spout is messy and quite a bit of detergent remains in the jug because of the configuration of the spout.

French Apple Pie?Does anyone have a recipe for French Apple Pie? This is a two crust pie with a dense filling of apples and raisins. The top has a white icing. Not a soft, thick cake type icing -- it is thin and sort of brittle.

Uses for Glass Pot Cover?I am looking for ideas of what can be done with a glass pot cover. it is about 9" in diameter and has a plastic round handle in its center. Long ago I had to get rid of the pot (the Teflon was all scratched). But the lid is perfectly good. It does not fit any other pots.

 

Using Wall Glaze on Wallpaper?I previously posted a request, for applying glazing over wallpaper, to give the paper a vintage appearance. The answers weren't what I was looking for because I still want the pattern of the wallpaper to show through the glaze.

 

Birds Eating My Marigolds?Every year I plant marigolds around my vegetable garden. This year the birds have eaten the flowers off the plants just before they fully bloom. We have a fairly dry spring this year. The years before they have consumed only a few flowers, not all of them.

 

What's this Flower?The leaves look "maple like" but with three major sections. The flowers stand up from the leaves. Because there is other foliage around them, it might be hard to tell but hopefully someone can identify this for me.
