Yam Souffle'Boil yams until tender. Peel and mash or beat with electric blender. Stir in melted butter, sugar, nutmeg, lemon peel and egg yolks. Cool slightly and fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
Caramel BrowniesMix together cake mix, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and margarine; put in 9x13 greased pan. Bake 6 minutes. Let cool. Melt caramels with 1/3 cup evaporated milk.

Cauliflower and Carrot CasseroleCook cauliflower according to package directions or boil fresh until tender. Boil carrots until tender. Place carrots and cauliflower, broke into flowerets, in 1 1/2 qt. casserole, mix with mushroom soup and cheddar cheese.
Beans and Ground Beef ChiliPuree the tomatoes in a blender or food processor. Brown the beef in the olive oil for 2 to 3 minutes. Add 1 Tbsp. ground cumin, the cumin and caraway seeds, and the chopped onion.
Seafoam IcingMix sugar, water, salt, and egg whites thoroughly. Cook in double boiler over rapidly boiling water for 7 minutes, beating constantly with electric beater. Take off heat and blend in vanilla.
Cottage Cheese Spinach SquaresBeat eggs and add all ingredients. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight. Uncover and put in 8 inch baking dish. Bake at 325 degrees F for 40-50 minutes. Cool 10 minutes.
Double Decker Pumpkin PuddingIn a large bowl, mix pumpkin, sugar, milk, eggs, butter and pumpkin pie spice. Beat until well mixed. Fold in the nuts. Pour into a greased 13 x 9-inch baking pan.

Getting White Washclothes White Again?My white washcloths turn pinkish after continual uses and washes. I tried using bleach to get the hint of pink out, but that doesn't work. I'm guessing that this pink occurs from the type of water we have. I notice that my toilet bowls turn pinkish when they are not cleaned within 10 days. After scrubbing the toilet bowl, though, the pink tint does go away. But this isn't the case with the washcloths. Any ideas on reasons and solutions out there? I only wash the washcloths with whites--no dark colors, etc. Thanks!

Red Faux Painted Walls?I am looking for suggestions for faux painting a dining room with reds. I am wanting a deep, rich red color, but am not sure what kind of effect the glazing will have on it. I will probably be using a shade that is the darkest or next to the darkest on the paint strip for the basecoat. Do I use just one or two shades lighter than the base coat to mix with the glaze? I want a subtle effect and I don't want it to look like a washed out red. Do I do a faux technique that uses "straight" paint? Haven't been able to find help on the web or many pictures. I did see a picture where black was used to tint the glaze, but it was too small a picture to get a good idea what it looked like. (Maybe it's just a bad idea to do this!) Thanks.
