Bessie's SquaresTakes few ingredients and is great for chocolate lovers.

 

Out of This World CakeVery moist and delicious! Prepare cake in 13x9 inch baking pan and bake according to package directions.

 

Barbecue WienersThis is a kid favorite. Pierce wieners several times with fork and place in large casserole dish. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over wieners.

 

Baked Burrito CasseroleDifferent, but very good casserole dish. Brown ground beef and onion. Add refried beans and taco mix.

 

Creamy Carrots With BaconOne of my favorites. Make gravy with 2 tablespoons fat (shortening,not bacon grease), flour, milk, and onion and then add cheese (melt) and add crumbled bacon.

 

French MadelinesStir eggs and sugar in top of double boiler until creamy and lukewarm. Remove from heat and beat until cool. Add flour gradually, mixing well.

 

Apricot SaladCombine above ingredients. Sprinkle with lemon juice over top of fruit. Mix lightly. Chill several hours.

 

Fishing Tip: A Trick To Catching FishOnce you have hooked the fish, keep it's head up! If the fish has a chance to head for the bottom, your odds of losing the fish are greater. If you keep the fish head up, the odds are you will catch them every time.

 

Use a Tooth Brush to Apply Teething MedicineIf you have a baby that's teething his or her back teeth, put the teething medicine on a tooth brush and brush it on. You could let the child brush their own gums if their old enough.

Use an Auto Mat for an Office Chair Floor MatA regular office-sized floor mat would have been too big for my home office. So I bought a transparent auto floor mat from the dollar store, and put it lengthwise over the carpet for my rolling desk chair. It works fine.

 

Keep Bugs Out Of Your Drink OutsideHere's another great use for Press and Seal. When you take a drink outside, you risk getting bugs in it. So put a small piece of Press and Seal over your glass leaving a drink hole or poke a tiny hole in it and stick a straw through it.

 

Freeze Steak and Grate the Fat OffTo remove the fat, freeze your steak first. Then simply grate the fat off with a standard grater. You can get closer to the meat than with a knife if you are the normal cook.

 

Tomato Plants Not Producing FruitI planted tomatoes from seeds in May. The plants have lots of blossoms, but there is only one green tomato on only one of the 7 plants. Is there something that I should do to stimulate the plants?
