Easter Blessings: Baked HamSince I am dedicating this to my mom, I'm going to copy from her cookbook, the very small section on Easter from the Holiday Family Favorites section of her cookbook.
Teriyaki Crockpot ChickenToss it in the crockpot in the morning, in the evening fix some rice and some stir fried veggies and you have an easy, nutritious meal. Who needs the takeout joint around the corner?
Mary Alice's Easter CookiesThese are soft almost like drop biscuits. (DH likes them with his meal as bread) They are good either plain or frosted.
Cherry Coffee CakeMix the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, eggs and oil together. Pour 1/2 of the batter into a 9x13 inch pan. Pour the cherry pie filling on top of the batter. Pour the other 1/2 of the batter on top of the cherry filling.
Grandma's Blue Cloud DessertThis is an Easter favorite. Combine graham crackers, sugar and margarine. Mix well and press into bottom of 9x13 inchpan, saving enough to sprinkle on top later. Bake in 375 degree F oven for 8 minutes.
Sweet FlowersGreat for Grandkids. For each flower, poke a lollipop stick through the top of 1 gumdrop. Move it 1 inch down the stick. Place 1 cookie, followed by another gumdrop, on the stick, making sure that the gumdrops hold the cookie securely in place.
Broccoli Corn BakeCombine first 8 ingredients in 1 1/2 qt. casserole. Blend last 2 ingredients and sprinkle over top. Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes. Serves 6.
Peanut Lime VinaigretteCombine the first ten ingredients in a food processor or blender and process until blended. Slowly drizzle in the peanut oil and blend to combine.
Store Oil Based Paint Brush During PaintingBecause of the long wearing factor of oil based paint, I hardly ever use anything else but clean up is a little messy. So if I have to stop in the middle of my project, I just put my brush in a container of water, until I am ready to use it next time.
Use Fan to Defrost FreezerFast and easy way to clean your freezer, use a fan. Simply empty the freezer and direct at top speed in front of a stand up or on top of a chest freezer. The frost will melt in a matter of minutes!
Saving Time is Like Saving MoneyTime is money, or so goes the cliche. There's merit to that well-known phrase and many others. Easy French ToastCrack a couple of eggs into a zip lock bag, and shake until they're a little foamy. Add a little sugar-free syrup, or fruit or fruit syrup, and shake again. Place a couple of slices of bread into the bag, make sure the bread's well-coated, and let it sit for 20-30 minutes.
Use Hand Soap to Clean LeatherTo clean a leather settee, don't buy all the expensive cleaning products, buy some soap that you wash your hands with. Get a bucket of warm water, wet the soap and rub the soap onto the leather with a wet cloth it brings out all the dirt, etc.
