Funky FritosChocolate, peanut butter and salty Fritos, what's not to like. Pour the chips into a greased 10x15 inch cookie sheet. Combine sugar, cane syrup in a pan, bring to a boil and add peanut butter. Stir until smooth.

 

Tomato Mozzarella SaladLayer tomatoes and cheese in shallow dish. In small jar, with tight-fitting lid, place oil, vinegar, parsley, onion, basil, salt and pepper. Cover and shake well.

 

Pizza CrustThe kids will soon be out of school and what kid doesn't like pizza. Dissolve yeast in the water. Then add all ingredients, knead just to finish mixing well. Press into pan and top with favorite toppings.

 

Grandma's Special SauerkrautIt is milder and goes with so many other dishes. Great granddaughter (age 6) always wants "The Special Sauerkraut" and has been known to eat almost the whole can by herself. This is good on top of hot dogs, too.

 

Sesame Salad DressingMix all the ingredients other than oil in a bowl. Add oil gradually into a bowl and mix well.

 

SouperburgerIn skillet, brown beef and cook onion in shortening until tender; stir to separate meat. Pour off fat. Add soup and seasonings. Cook 5 minutes; stir now and then. Serve on buns.

 

Cold Fruit Soup Place the fruit juice, water, pineapple juice, cinnamon, star anise or cloves, lemon zest, orange zest, and sugar in a pot and bring to a boil. until reduced by one-half. Strain the stock.

 

Lemon Garlic ChickenCombine first 6 ingredients for marinade. Marinate chicken overnight (or all day). Cook chicken on grill, basting with marinade. Or may broil or bake in oven, as you would normally do chicken.

 

Make A Quilt From Secondhand FabricsMake a quilt easily and cheaply. Use a flashy fabric for the top made from cheap clothing from the second hand shop. Use a mattress pad for the batting, and a nice fleecy or soft bedspread for the backing. Sew together and put a few ties into the center for stability.

 

Saving Money in the KitchenI have gone to the library used book sales and have purchased some Better Homes and Gardens cookbooks. They are older ones, but have good recipes for great meals, desserts and ways to stretch a budget.

 

Onion for Bee StingsFor bee stings, my husband's grandmother used to always apply the cut side of an onion she had sliced in half to the bee sting for several minutes. Any pain or swelling, etc., will completely disappear. We have used this with our daughter, and now with our grandchildren with great success.
