Cookie Crust Fruit PizzaYou can replace any or all of these fruits with your choices such as kiwi, papaya, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, peaches, nectarines, or canned, crushed and drained pineapple.

 

Pecan Crunch Turkey BurgerPecan Crunch Garden Turkey Burgers are tasty and filling. They have their own unique bite. One of my favorite recipes.

 

Cafe De OllaI'm not a coffee drinker, but I make this when company comes over. Apparently, it/s a keeper. If you have a French Press you will find it easier to pour from the saucepan into it.

 

Mustard PicklesThis brings back memories for me. My mother always made these and she never canned them but kept them in a crock in a cold basement. I know this sounds gross, but a scum would form on the top. You scraped away the scum and pulled out a pickle!

 

Frozen Vegetable PizzaPreheat oven according to directions on pizza crust package. Rinse vegetables in colander under warm water. Drain well; pat with paper towel to remove excess moisture.

 

Sweet Broiled GrapefruitCut membrane out of the center of each grapefruit half. Cut around each section so it will be easy to spoon out when eating. Place 1 Tbsp. butter in the center of each half.

 

Grilled Corn with Parmesan ButterTakes awhile for prep and grilling but it's so worth the yummy flavor.

 

Swiss Onion SoupPreheat oven to 350 degrees F. Melt butter in a saucepan. Saute onions until tender. Stir in flour and salt; cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually stir in bouillon. Bring to a boil; reduce heat.

 

Fancy Tuna CasseroleBoil noodles till tender, rinse and drain. Mix with butter and paprika until highly colored. Sauce: Melt butter, saute onions and pepper, then add soup, milk, Worcestershire sauce, tuna and nutmeg.

 

Substitute for Corn SyrupThis is a substitute for corn syrup. A cheaper alternative.

 

Lupus (Glen of Imaal Terrier)His name is Lupus, like the Latin word for wolf. He has a face like it (just the legs are way too short) but not the personality. He is nearly seven years old. He always had grey hairs in his face.

 

Plant Sale FundraiserTired of fundraisers selling useless and cheap items? When the schools ask for volunteers for fundraising, volunteer to start a flower fundraiser. Our local schools used to sell flowers in flats and baskets from a local nursery.

 

Crush Garlic Instead of MincingTo crush garlic quickly with little clean-up, place the garlic in a clean cereal bag liner and place on top of a flat, palm sized washed and bleached rock. Use another clean flat rock to crush the garlic.

 

Bailee (Pug Mix)Bailee is 10 months old and a Pug mix. Bailee is a rescue dog from Arkansas. She had a three day ride to the East Coast. She came to us on July 3, 2010. She loves to play catch and loves to go for walks.

Cover Sliding Door With Trash Bags To Keep CoolKeep your house cooler by putting trash bags on sliding doors when it is hot and sunny outside. My sliding door lets a huge amount of sun and heat in in the morning. I use those large black yard waste trash bags to block the sun and heat. Painters tape will hold the bag.

Use Linseed Oil to Treat Garden HandlesRub the handles of of pitchforks and shovels once in awhile with a rag dipped in linseed oil and you'll find the shafts both last longer and are much more pleasant to use.

 

Keep Saran Wrap From ClingingWhen tearing off food wrap film or saran wrap, pull the film back toward and allowing it to touch your body after tearing to keep it from clinging up. Then push the film forward to object to be wrapped so the side that touches your body doesn't touch the food to be wrapped.
