My daughter is turning 11 soon and I need a party idea. She is not particularly girly girl, but also not a tomboy. She wants something out of the house, but maybe coming back after and not too expensive. There would be 16 people if there are boys and 9 if not. She thinks that Battle Zone is too popular, as well as, Wet n' Wild. Any ideas?

I remember my first co-ed party was when I was 10 years old and it was SO fun because we played games that were not only targeted at girls with dolls and girly-crafts, but little games that had didn't even need to end in winning prizes. Here is a fun list of games they can try either at the home or at a nearby park:
Bowling? Mini golf? Come back to a bon fire or BBQ? Or, perhaps show a movie outside on a wall of the house (after dark)
My daughter is 14 now, but by far the best birthday idea I can suggest is what we did for her 13th birthday party. I went online to a bidding site like Priceline or Travelocity and got a cheap (under $100) hotel room by researching 3 and 4 star places in or around where we live. I got a suite with a connecting room where I stayed.
Cake, snacks, decorations, music and a cheap disco lightbulb made it fantastic, plus they also got to swim in the pool. Obviously the boys could come for a few hours if you were able to get a suite.
Other great ideas are a bounce house, (we have one called Cloud 9 that is just a big warehouse filled with trampolines and slides), roller or ice skating rink, or rock climbing.
You could go to alitude it is a fun jumping place and it gets all of there energy out and it's fun what's the wait
Maybe you could do some outdoor things and crafts
You could go the cinema and watch a film then maybe have a meal either at your house or in a cafe or restaurant somewhere
Maybe if you have an arcade like Dave and busters or power play you could do a video game theme then the prizes they get from the tickets are the party favors. Hoped that helps, I am turning 11 tomorrow.
