My daughter is turning 11 years old in 22 days and she wants to go to Great Wolf Lodge. She only wants to go there because of the water and because she can sleep over with her friends. But it is too expensive what should I do?

Make a option list, with places and things you can afford, like- Skating and pizza, arcade/dinner, bowling, mani/pedi, sleep over.
I know children don't understand all the issue parent's have about finances and being able to afford it all. You will need to sit down and talk with her and tell her the problems you are having. Do not treat her like a child be honest to her and let her know you just can't afford to take her there. Ask her for some other options and things she wants to do. Work out a budget with her and let her know how much you can spend on her party.
It is a very sad thing we must all learn, especially at that age, that we cannot do what we want when we don't have the money. 11 is as good a time as any to learn that lesson.
If the only real draw is water and sleepover, why would you guys not go camping? Depending on where you are, by March it is already starting to get warm. Or if that's too much, then I'm sure yall can afford a day trip to the beach or lake
We have a Great Wolf Lodge not too far away. They have midweek specials that might be an option for just a couple of friends. An expensive party will limit the amount of guests to just one or two.
Another option is to get a hotel near Great Wolf and purchase a day pass, although these seem to be more expensive than in the past at $80-100 in my area. This might be out of your budget too.
For an 11 year old, I would definitely get her involved in the planning and budgeting process. I would give her a dollar amount and have her figure out what she can afford. Maybe there is a local water park that is more affordable with a home sleepover afterwards? Or something completely different like manis and pedis at a local beauty school for cheap.
Good luck, pretty soon she won't want you involved in her party at all. The time goes so fast!
