My daughter is turning 13 this year and is having difficulties planning a party. We have about 7 people in mind, but there's only one problem. She's homeschooled, so all of her friends are from different activities (Co-op, art class, etc.) and don't know each other. Even worse, they're all pretty shy. Does anyone have any ideas for a party that will minimize awkwardness? Nothing like spa night, please - they're all fairly mature for their ages.

Maybe you can do a party at your house with a bunch of games like Minute to Win it or maybe some ice breaker games. For my twelfth b-day, I went to see a movie with my friends and ten we came back to my house and played Minute To Win. Then we ate cake, snacked and talked.

Try letting them get to know each other first before doing anything else. A great way to do this is to go to the restaurant or stay even stay in your house and get everyone to speak or write down their name and two or three things about themselves. Then pass them around. You might want to try some team games where the girls can work together and don't try to get to involved.
There is a awesome game that would bring together! The Game of Things would be great for her party!
