My daughter is having a birthday party and wants to stay in a hotel with her friends. She wants to have a meal, get her makeup done, and also wants me to hire a hot tub! I have told her that it is too much, but she won't listen. What should I do?

YOU are the parent. YOU make the rules. This is a wonderful opportunity to teach your child the value of a dollar. Tell her how much you are willing to spend. Let her figure out how much everything costs. She will see very quickly how fast the money goes. You can offer alternatives, like fewer guests, elimination of the hot tub, or a spa party at home. If she doesn't like any of the alternatives, you can give her the money to spend as she chooses.
Yeah thats too much! She could do all that at home minus the hot tub. Or is there an apartment complex where you can host her party?
Does she deserve such party? At the age of 13, it was just a simple pizza party for me.
She can do all that at home minus the hot tub. She can have a nice manicure, pedicure, hair at home with her friends.
