We just adopted a kitten and our 14 yr old dog has started to pee in the house. Is this jealousy or a health problem? We have never had to deal with a house trained dog suddenly doing this.

Sounds like jealousy but to be on the safe side with a geriatric dog, schedule a check-up with the vet. It could be your dog has a UTI or other illness and only the vet can say for sure.
Meanwhile, see if spending extra 'just me and the dog' time helps reassure your canine fur-baby that he/she isn't being replaced with a younger, cuter model. I wouldn't punish the dog for the accidents. At 14 year old (really really old in dog years) some dogs develop all kinds of age-related problems they can't control. Punishment will only add to your dog's misery.
Please update when things either improve or you've had a diagnosis from your vet.
I honestly think it is just a coincidence and perhaps the dog has a health issue. My dog was 17 when she passed and that is a long life for a dog so 14 is pretty darn old too. Just bear with it and love the dog no matter what. He/she needs your support not stress.
