You need to see what your mother's budget is. Hotels are expensive.
You will also need parent present at the hotel party at all times to supervise.
What are the amenities at the hotel that can be useful? Versus having a party at your home?
I would probably present a list on why you want a hotel party?
Example:
- Has a pool, or indoor pool
- Place for kids/teens?
- Entertainment for kids, movie night or something?
I would also research price ranges for hotels (different price levels, look into what the hotel has to present) and so forth to compare. But first, you will have to ask your parent how much could you spend on a birthday party?
Birthday blessings!! The best way to ask is when you and your mom have alone time and she is not stressed out (so not while she is cooking, cleaning, driving, working, or dealing with your siblings if you have any).
Your mom or dad or a grandparent will need to be staying with you at the hotel because no hotel (at least in the US and that I know of) would permit unsupervised minors stay over.
Some hotels may not even book a room for a child's sleep over if a parent stays.
When you are talking to your mom, be sure to know all of your facts and figures...so how many people, how much a hotel will cost, and how much food will cost to have it ordered in (or eat in their restaurant) (since you won't have the luxury of cooking at home), etc. Having your facts will show that you are responsible and that is something your mom wants to know and SEE in action!! SO BE PREPARED!!!
If you can show how this is an economical way to have a party and one that is less work for her, that may be helpful (shows you care about her and her feelings but this needs to be backed up with facts!!)
I can tell you, with no doubt in my mind, that if I had suggested such a thing to my mom when I was your age, she would have said NO WAY faster than lightening. Of course, when I was your age things were very, very, very, very different.
If she says now, be prepared with potential plans b and c--like maybe just going to the hotel for the afternoon to swim (if they have such an arrangement) or going to the hotel restaurant for a meal (if there is one).
