I'm turning 14 on January 9th and I don't really want to do anything huge. I am having my best friend over to hang out, sleepover, and hang out on my actual birthday. We wanted to see a movie, but we don't think there is anyone who can pick us up. I need ideas for what to do to have some fun! It will be cold so a warm activity will not be an option and we are not really into rock climbing and classic birthday party things. Help me, it's in 3 days!

How about a "home spa" party? Google for ideas, but you could easily do manicures and pedicures, facials, and do each other's hair. If you can't go out for a movie, rent one -- either from your TV provider, or Netflix, or if those aren't options, and if you are on a budget, most libraries have them for free of charge loans. Rent several, and you can have a marathon with your friend!! If you both like to cook, plan on making your own pizza or something like that. Dig out some board games that you like, or maybe a large puzzle. There is no need for birthday parties to be expensive or non-stop bliss. You and your friend can have a lot of fun with simple things. The treat is celebrating together and having fun together.
