My birthday is in December, but my godmom said to decide now so she can save up for it. The budget is $500. It is going to be a girls and boys party so nothing overnight and nothing childish, but nothing too mature. The budget is just for the venue not for the food and drinks, etc.
Thanks in advance.

You have to see how many people you want and divide the $500 by that. The result is how much you can spend per person. If you had 10 people, you could spend $50 per person, not including the food. $50 could buy a concert ticket.
$500 is a very generous budget for a birthday party and nice of your god mom!
You can do a lot with $500, do you know how many friends you would like to invite? It is early to plan ahead but around when is your birthday? If near Christmas or Winter Break - many might be on vacation, so you might want to plan around that or schedule your party before/after?
Or, did you want to keep a portion of the money toward a gift you would need? Like a new phone, laptop instead of all that toward a party.
