Try checking a few things:

1. It sounds like your heater core is working fine.
2. I don't think you have a problem with the thermostat in your truck.
3. I believe the problem is in your blend door actuator.
4. This is located behind your glove box.
5. There are two 8mm bolts at the front and one 8mm bolt at the back you can't see.
6. Now run your temperature control up and down and see if the shaft moves.
7. If you can't see it moving, you'll need to pull this out.
8. The replacement part is around $40.

9. When you put this back in, there is really no need to put the back bolt back in. It is really not necessary or needed.
10. This should solve your problem.

It could be any of the following:

Step 1
Coolant Level

Step 2
Thermostat stuck open

Step 3
Heater Control Valve

Step 4
Temperature blend door

Step 5
Plugged heater core

Step 6
It could also be a stripped knob.

It could be your thermostat or blend door actuator.
