2006 Ford Ranger XLT Heater Not Working?

I have a 2006 Ford ranger XLT. The heater isn't working. The air conditioning switch kicks the compressor on at different places. I have replaced both of the switches, with no luck. I have checked everything I can think of.

This actually sounds like you have a common problem with your heater. It is a blend door actuator problem. Here are a few other causes and repairs for common issues.

Check your coolant levels. If your coolant levels are even a bit low this can cause this problem. The coolant liquid isn't able to pass through the top of the system. Therefore, it isn't reaching the heater core.
Check to see if your thermostat stuck open. If your engine doesn't reach operating temperature then this can cause the heater to not work.

Heater control valve isn't working correctly. Check this and replace it if damaged and you think it isn't working correctly.
Check the temperature blend door switch. This could be damaged and needs replacement.
You might also have a plugged heater core that needs flushing.
