3-Step DIY Hair Treatment Tip

3-Step DIY Hair Treatment - three supply bottlesThis at-home hair treatment works like a charm on all hair types; even the frizziest of locks. It helps your hair retain moisture and keeps your mane looking super shiny. All it takes is a liquid, an oil, and a cream. The great thing about this method is that you can even use some of the cheapest products around your house. Sometimes I just use water, olive oil, and that freebie lotion I got during a hotel stay. No matter what you use, as long as you follow the guidelines, your tresses will look amazing.

You will need:

  • water or water-based leave in conditioner
  • oil - olive, castor, coconut, grapeseed or hair oil
  • cream like cream-based conditioner, moisturizing cream, or shea butter

Then just follow these simple steps:

  1. On clean hair, dampen all over with the liquid. This is the moisture that needs to be sealed in. You can use a spray bottle to help distribute it evenly.
  2. Apply a thin layer of oil all over to help lock in the moisture.
  3. Lastly, apply the cream. This keeps the oil trapped, ultimately keeping in the liquid.

Do you keep this in or rinse out after a while?

Keep it in! It's like hair gold. Depending on your hair needs, it all comes out whenever you wash. I wash my hair every 3rd day.

How long do you leave this treatment on your hair before washing out? I would think at least 10 minutes :). Also, do you wash 2 times after the treatment?

I have a really oily scalp and dry ends, I am going to try this on the ends of my hair before I get in the tub.

Lotions from hotels...you do not know the chemical make up. Some by just putting on your hands can create burn factor. And on the other end, high of water.
Better yet, eat a good diet of healthy fats in food. Drinking more water than you do can help reset the balance in your hair. Stop eating/drinking things that do harm the cells in your body. Wear a hat in the sun. Stop doing things to your hair so rescue is not necessary.
Know that crappy hair is also signs of medical issues.

To permanently fix the hair issue, hair is NOT a live cell as it comes out and stays out of your head. Like toe and finger nails. It does not cry or bleed when cut.

Thanks for this, Toosa! I curl my hair once in a while, and use a blow dryer occasionally ... even though my eating plan is exceptionally healthy, my hair still gets a bit dry at times.
