When decorating for the 4th of July, $1 store items are wonderful, but sometimes you may need to alter them to suit your decorating. I put my banner outside on my deck, but the wind flipped them over, so I taped pennies to their back sides and now they hang nicely.

I would like the instructions for a 4th of July decoration that was in Family Circle magazine prior to July 1984. It consisted of making a drum with poster board and Styrofoam then covering Styrofoam balls with fabric. I made one back then and now would like to make more for my grand children. It was so festive. If you could help me I would be so grateful. Thank you.

I am in charge of our 4th of July parade float and I need ideas. The theme is "Pink Petals and Patriotism". It is in the Crape Myrtle capital. Does anyone have any ideas?
Sounds challenging but some beautiful possibilities! How about some crape myrtles with red, white and blue ribbons wrapped around them like garland?
