My kitten is 5 weeks old today. He is one of 6 that the mama had in July. He's not his spunky self. He seems thin and has had some eye discharge which I've been cleaning out of his eye multiple times a day.
I have no money til payday in a few days so we gotta hold on the vet. He's not warm on the nose, ears, or anywhere. He does meow and walks around, but he won't eat the kitten food or nurse. He drank water through a syringe. Any ideas?
I was going to feed him kitten formula through a syringe so I know he's eating and take him to the vet soon as pay day comes. I've had her lose a litter when they were 6 weeks old due to a cold she gave them all. I'm afraid it's going to happen again. Any advice?

If you can't get to the vet, I would call and get some input. Some will give suggestions over the phone if you have an established relationship.
Best is to get the kitty in ASAP and talk about a payment plan.

They dont do payment plans where we live. Ive asked and they need to be paid upfront. I took care of him myself and hes already better. Just fed him by syringe and got him eye meds and hes eating now still not spunky like he was but hes walking eating drinking and has strength
The kitten is very young and more than likely should still drink the mother's milk for another few weeks. If the mother is no where to be found you can buy some mother's milk at the vet's to give to the cat. By this age they can drink from a bowl. As for the eye infection you can clean the eye and see if you can get rid of the discharge. If it gets worse and the cat still won't eat it is time to visit your vet.
Our grocery store sells kitten milk in the cat food aisle. I've given it to our cats when they were little.
I bought a canister of powdered kitten milk on Amazon last year, and the cats wouldn't touch it.
Eye infections can get serious with kittens. Call the vet and work out a payment plan.
