Photo Description As we passed a large and very old Chinese maple tree, I ducked under it's expansive network of low-hanging branches and looked up. Immediately I was enchanted by the beautiful light and sense of being sheltered and protected by nature. The red leaves of the tree almost glowed in the sunlight, and hints of foliage from neighboring trees blended together like a water color! It was like a magical, living painting and created a sense of peace and safety that I hadn't felt in weeks. I was so grateful that this wonderful old tree offered up such a beautiful and unexpected gift.
After what seemed like weeks of non-stop April showers, we had a rare sunny day. My husband and I grabbed our face masks and went to visit an arboretum at a local college. The school was closed due to the virus restrictions, but the arboretum was open to visitors. (With signs urging appropriate social distancing. Easy to do in this spacious landscaped oasis.)
