This is my first time to do a float or to be a 4-H leader and I want to do a good job. The theme for the Christmas parade is "A Storybook Christmas". I need ideas.

What about picking a classic Christmas story, and setting up the float with a set and characters dressed like that story. Books that come to my mind are "How the Grinch stole Christmas" or Emmett Otter's Jug Band Christmas or The Best/worst Christmas Story Ever or The Night Before Christmas, etc.
The theme for our Christmas parade is also A Story Book Christmas. My idea is to get two giant boxes,(mattress or refrigerator) fold in half in the form of a book and draw two pictures from the story of you choice adding some writing. You will have to use many pages such as butcher paper in order to give it that book effect. My story book will probably be T'was The Night Before Christmas. I will have some children sleeping on mats pretending they are sleeping, while others sit around the fireplace listening to the story in hopes of finding a giant story book pertaining to the story.
