A Year After Rebonding?

I have rebond my hair once a year for the past few years. I can't just cut it without re-bonding, because then my hair becomes frizzy at the place where I tie my hair.

I really want to break out of this rebonding cycle. I just want to cut my hair without having to worry about the permanent zig zag mark; it doesn't go away after I wash my hair. Please help.

Is cutting it short an option, then letting it grow to the length you want?
Can it be straightened to get rid of the zig-zag?

You need to make a decision. You may have to flat iron your hair to get rid of frizz
