Does anyone have the recipe for macaroni and cheese that appeared on the back of the A&P elbow macaroni box? it was so good and I would love to have it. Thanks!

Joan, this is not from A&P but was on a box of Weis Market brand when we lived in Maryland years ago. I have used it for my family and for church dinners for many years. You can put chopped hot dogs in it as well. I hope you enjoy it as much as we have.
2 cups (8 0z.) elbow macaroni, uncooked
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 1/2 cups milk
2 cups (8 0z.) shredded cheddar cheese
Cook pasta according to package instructions and drain. In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Blend in flour, salt and pepper and gradually stir in milk. Cook stirring constantly until sauce thickens and mixture begins to boil. Add cheese; stir until cheese is melted. Add the pasta to the cheese sauce.
This came out of the A&P Cookbook and Shooping Guide from 1975:
1 8oz pkg elbow macaroni
3 Tablespoons margarine
3 Tablesoons Flour
1/4 Teaspoon salt
Cook and drain elbow macaroni as pakage directs. Meanwhile, melt margarine over low heat. Blend in flour and seasonings. Gradually add milk, stirring until sauce thickens. Add cheese and stir until melted. Stir in cooked macaroni. Pour into greased 1 1/2 quart casserole. Toss bread crumbs with melted margarine and paprika. Sprinkle over macaroni. Bake in moderatley hot oven (375 degrees F) for 25 minutes or until bubbling and browned. Makes 4 servings.
Is this the one using dry mustard? I believe it's the recipe my mom uses, and I have copied it over the years - it's the best!
