Since my car usually carries me to an appointment, I set the car clock back 7 or 8 minutes permanently. It gives me "catch-my-breath" time. It keeps me from having a panic attack as I cut it close for an appointment.

I think you meant ahead rather than back but it's a good tip! The clock in my car and the clocks in my house are all set 10 minutes ahead for the same reason and I don't even allow myself to think the set times have been adjusted :-)
I suppose this works for some people. Myself, I like to know exactly what time it is. I do not leave the house at the last minute, or have to rush to where I am going. Lateness it usually a lack of planning bout how long it takes to get someplace.
Your title is inconsistent with the body of your message. Didn't you mean to say that you "set the time ahead" in the car? But then you say that this gives you breather time so you "don't have a panic attack", which makes it look like you really do set the time back, so you keep calm in the car.
Either way, I don't think it's a good tip. By the time you get in your car there is little you can do to get yourself to your appointment quicker. Even if you ran all the stop signs and red lights, and broke the speed limit, you would only save a few minutes if you didn't get stopped by a police officer.
