I have recently acquired a 535 New Home Janome sewing machine. How do I adjust the needle position so that it is in the centre? It is sewing fine, but the needle is to the left as shown in the picture.
Thank you.

Here is a post that I hope will be helpful in replacing your needle in your machine. There are also video's on youtube.com -just enter your troubleshooting problems , and several how to video's will talk you through it! janome.com.au/
It is not replacing the needle I need help with it is the position of the needle as the picture shows the needle is positioned on the left I need it positioned in the centre where it should be for straight stitching.
I have checked out the video mentioned my machine doesn't have a bar with screw as shown. I have taken another picture of this area but can't see how to add it.
Here is a manual for the sewing machine. I think this manual is not for this machine but inside it shows you how to adjust the needle. Normally all machines basically work the same and the adjustments from one model to another does not change. You can try this book first. www.janome.com/
I know this video is not for your machine but like I did say earlier that most machine work the same and you can follow this one to adjust the needle. It appears that you need to open the side of the machine and use a small screwdriver to move the needle position on your machine. Take a look at this video. www.youtube.com/
I have checked out the video my machine doesn't seem to have the bar with screw that he mentions. I've added a picture of this area.
Does your machine have a plus button or knob? I think it is a button that makes the needle move from left, to center, to right.
No it has a lever but if I move the lever so that the needle is in the centre it then stitches in zigzag not straight stitches.
I think this is the correct manual. Perhaps this will help!

Thank you for this but unfortunately manuals for sewing machines only show how to use a sewing machine not how to repair issues with a machine.
put the straight sewing foot in. it will be in the correct position. the zigzag and other wider feet it will be on the left side of the foot.
Did you ever find the answer to this? I have exactly the same problem with a similar model sewing machine. I just cant find where to adjust it.
