My dad was a shoe repairman and in approximately 1949, after he apprenticed with a local Czech shoe cobbler, he started with a used Singer black foot treadle sewing machine with a heavy metal stool with a wooden seat. The marching serial/model number on the gold plate is 29K72. After he returned from the European Theater WWII to Manson, IA and worked in a hardware Store, he learned the shoe repair trade and some area farmers staked him to his first store in Palmer, IA. From there to Pocahontas, IA and then in 1962 to Eagle Grove, IA. Can anyone provide age and estimated value of the sewing machine and stool?

I love seeing the antique Singer sewing machines but the cobbler machine is more of a rarity than most sewing machines.
I did find some interesting sales for similar machines but I'm not sure how much difference there is in 29K72 and the earlier model: 29K51 so perhaps you can compare the pictures with your machine to see how they compare:

There is not a lot more anyone can tell you without pictures of your machine,
You may be able to join Ismacs and send questions to their members as they are considered the most qualified 'experts' on antique sewing machines - especially Singer.
They will probably want a picture of the machine as well as the serial number. 29K72 is the model number.
They will not discuss value but once you find out more about your machine then you will be able to determine a fair price.
