I just bought this chest of drawers at an estate sale for $35. The elderly lady (probably in her 80s) I bought it from said it belonged to her husband's grandmother who lived to be 102. Can anyone identify the era and possibly the even the value of this piece?

I can't attest to the peice in question but if what the lady said is correct, you are looking at a Civil War Era chest of drawers. If so you can get as much as $1500, looks like
Thanks for that info, Jean. Wow! That would be something if it was indeed that old. My guess was maybe depression era.
Look underneath and in the back for a manufacturers mark. It will be much easier to identify and give a value.
Thanks for the reply, Judy. It actually has no manufacturers mark anywhere that I can see. Also, I noticed that the drawers are not dovetailed, but are nailed rabbeted (I believe is the correct term?) if that makes any difference.
I wish that I had an answer for you. My parents have a dresser shaped just like yours but more ornate. I have the mirror and dresser as well as bed (headboard and footboard) with mine.
