Is there homeowner's insurance? There are also places that can be rented.
You do not provide any further information so no one can even begin to respond to your question. If your friend owned the house and has insurance, she should contact her insurance company. There may be other options available to her but you did not provide any more information.
If your friend has no insurance, and no resources, the Salvation Army is the place to start. I believe the Red Cross may also have emergency help.
