I preach keeping records of all your flowers, and I am the one guilty of not doing so. Not having truly permanent markers nor a camera or computer, I did tend to get sloppy with my record keeping. Now I have all three. There's no excuse.
I don't know the name of the pictured iris. I bought it several years, ago. Somewhere, in old papers, is a sales slip with the name of this iris, along with about 10 others I bought at the same time.
As these 'unknowns' bloom, I will take pictures and google by image. Hopefully, I will find the correct name, that way.
Another (maybe better and faster) way would be to google the names on the sales slip. Then I could compare the pictures on the Internet with pictures I have taken and match them accordingly.
I've made a promise to myself. If I ever get all my flowers properly labeled, I will never be lax about record keeping, again.
I stopped collecting iris at 50+ varieties. That was years ago. Now that I see the breeders are coming up with unbelievably beautiful colors, shapes, and patterns one would expect to find only in some wild psychedelic dream, I'm sure I will add to my collection.
Slowly though. The one at the link is $55.00. Thank goodness most are a fifth that price.

Wow! that is some beautiful flower!
I like your Iris and I'm sure you will locate the name, even if by just roaming through all the photos on Google - which is one of my favorite pastimes - flowers/plants of all kinds - much more interesting than the daily news.
I started my permanent files years ago but have been kinda lazy and only have bits and pieces but maybe I'll take time to work on bringing them up to date also.
Thanks for bringing such lovely real flowers into our lives and also for tips we can use - or not - that's up to us.
Betty
