Mom and daughter have a list of places to buy the best ham. We look for a large ham with a bone in and trimmed. Bake the ham with a few spices and no sugar or too much sweet things on it. If you sweeten it, it won't make a good soup or other main dish
- We cut an area of meat off to have for dinner after it is baked.
- We cut the remaining after dinner, the wait is so the meat is firm and easy to cut. We have a favorite breakfast omelet so small cuts are bagged to use for that.
- Next is a stew. This stew contains potatoes, carrots and onions and a little bigger cuts.
- The soup is from the hambone with peas, carrots onions, garlic and soup spices. Then the big dog gets it.
