Photo Description As I get older, I look back on the friends I had, all long since departed. There were a few who were exceptional, kind, wholesome, and especially friendly. They were the first to help someone in need and never speak of it, later. These people would never boast about the good deeds they did. Remembering the lady who gave me this iris and the few like her, I think to myself, 'Doug, your life wasn't rosy a lot of the time. Still, there are blessings to be counted. There were friends, special friends. The kind I can speak of to their great grandchildren and say, "I knew your great grandmother. She was a good woman. I appreciate so very much that she was a part of my life".
Just look at the beard on this guy. It's the most brilliant beard I've ever seen!
The lady neighbor who gave me this iris, (about 60 years ago) didn't know its name. So, I don't. I gave it a name, 'Appreciation'. Let me tell you why.
