My day started out about the same. I have to say, I am looking at life a lot more positive these days! That is important for everyone to know. I think we (people) are just adjusting to this way of living. We are so conscientious of the possibility of catching the virus, we have given into the new way of life living in our homes We are at an accepting stage.
But, I am a mother of four adult married kids who all live within 20 minutes of me. (Im very blessed), and a grandmother of 11 amazing healthy grandchildren. Oh, how I have missed everyone so very much! We do have scheduled FaceTime talks all mapped out throughout the week and that makes such a huge difference! I see their giggling faces and listen to their long stories and even see a battle or two and Mom gets angry! I just laugh! I say; gee, you don't remember doing that while I was on the phone?
Well, my only daughter has my four youngest. She called me today and said; "Do you feel like a WINDOW visit?" I said "What?" "Yes!" she said. "We are going to pull up in the front of the door. Wear your mask, and the kids and I will come 6 ft up to your front window! We are coming over for a Window Visit."
Oh my goodness, I ran and got my phone (camera), put on my mask, and opened the window. I saw them jump out of the car and they couldn't get to me fast enough. Though mom had to put them 6 ft. back. But there they were all jumping and laughing and posing for pictures and doing high fives and throwing kisses to Nana. The excitement was fantastic.
Then as they were leaving they were waving all the way to the car and down the street. What a wonderful Blessed day I will cherish forever! Though now, you know those kids are going to want to do this more and more. That's okay by me! They made my day in a very special way. I love them to the moon and back and forever!
Summary, where there's a will, there's a way! Just use your imagination! We don't have to be completely alone!
That's so sweet.
Thank you, for your sweet comment! It really made my day!
Who is the luckiest?
You or your family?
Both - I would say.
Thanks for reminding us how we can still find ways to make lovely memories even when the world is in such turmoil.
Oh, thank you so much for your sweet comments. I truly think my daughter is the most creative person, to have come up with this idea! I know that people are doing the window visits for people in Nursing Homes, but just think if more families did this for their own family members too, it really truly warmed my heart, and I really feel less alone now!
