Many of us are calcium deficient. Calcium supplements are widely available, but very expensive. Here's an inexpensive tip: Antacid products. The chewable antacids are calcium rich. The labels indicate that the product may be used as a calcium supplement and give dosage instructions for that. Large bottles of tasty, fruit flavored antacids save more than 50% in cost over the "calcium supplements" being sold with the same value of calcium.

Yes, but they contain a large amount of aluminum which is implicated in alzheimer's. One thing you can do it eat more vegetables (yes, they contain more calcium than most realize) and cut down on protein, which leaches out calcium. I fully believe that most Americans are calcium deficient because of eating too much protein and not enough vegetables. The dairy industry would have us believe that milk and milk products is the main way to go.
Antacid tablets destroy your liver I would not suggest using them unless you really have to. Do the research online and check it out before harming your body.
This is a very alarming idea. Our bodies use stomach acid to digest our food. Suppressing natural and necessary stomach acid can lead to all kinds of ill health and problems.
I've always had a problem with acid reflux and take tums because it doesn't have aluminum in it. I stopped taking Fosamax when I learned it doesn't work. I live in Chicago & we only get 90 days of sunshine. I'll still keep taking tums even with the risk of hurting my liver because it's the one organ that can regenerate itself.
