Found this trunk by a dumpster. Its is very heavy, not sure what kind of wood it is. The nails in it are old. There are no markings on it, I would like to know if it's worth anything?

You have Antique Coffer Chest Trunk.
Judging by the hinges in the photo, you most likely have a 19th century coffer chest trunk

You have not specified the size of your trunk. As it is, I think the price of it is about $100-150, but the price depends on the size and demand in your area.
I would bring the pictures to a dealer. There is a considerable amount of work to restore this piece. Once you know what you have and what it will cost to restore it, can you make up your mind if it is or will be worth anything.
It looks like a Small Panel Chest
