Diamond Post Medal for All Time! 1,298 Posts Instead of using 2 pie doughs crusts, you can roll out 1 crust a bit thinner and use the extra pieces as hearts on top. Less dough and you still get to enjoy this delicious apple blueberry pie. Serves perfectly with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.
Prep Time: 5-10 minutes
Cook Time: 1 hour, 25 minutes
Total Time: 1 hour, 30 minutes
Yield: 1 pie
Ingredients:
- 1 pie crust
- 6 apples
- 1 cup blueberries
- 1 Tbsp cornstarch
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Steps:
- Roll your packaged pie dough crust a little thinner. Fit into your pie pan. Add pie weights and bake for 15-20 minutes until brown at 350 F.
- Remainder scraps, I used heart cookie cutter to make a bunch of hearts for the pie crust topping. You can use any other cookie cutter you have on hand if you'd like to make that as the theme topping.
- Peel and cut the apples. I personally used honey crisp apples.
- In a large bowl - add apple slices, blueberries, mix with cornstarch, sugar and cinnamon. Bake at 350 for about an hour, or until ready depending on your oven.
