Apple cider vinegar is loaded with vitamins and minerals. So it's perfect for adding to your chicken's water in moderation. Plus, because of the acidity in it, it helps in preventing algae from growing in your water. But you will want to buy the organic unfiltered kind, because when it's nonorganic it means that it has been pasturized, completely killing all the nutrients. You will want to add 1 TBS per 1 gallon. Note: Do not use in metal water containers.

Cool! Who knew?
I love this idea and will be using it! This will save a lot of money by not buying that special Chicken Water Conditioner.
how do u get a real chicken
Chicks are available at feed supply stores in the spring, or you can find a chicken farm in your area. I believe that there are also companies that will mail you baby chickens and turkeys to raise.
Be sure to check your local laws about having poultry in your neighborhood. There are usually regulations about roosters in city limits and backyard chickens are often limited to 6. Some places don't allow them at all.
