I was going to get rid of a dresser in my kids room to make more room and was going to ask $50. Then I decided to look to see if there was a name brand and found Dixie! How do I know if this is authentic? Any idea on value? Also, Found something online that says Hepplewhite Dixie. Any help you can give me is appreciated!

Sad but what you're saying about the market in your area is probably accurate for most areas.
Dixie must have over-marketed this particular model because I can find it listed for sale in many places and it does not seem to be very popular right now.
You cannot place a value on any piece by the sold price because the sold pieces are in different areas than yours.
I would suggest that you take some good pictures and list it for sale on several sites. List it on Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, USA4Sale (Your zip code), VarageSale. All of these sites are free to list your items and very easy to use.
Not a dresser, but here's what a federal-style buffet looks like after chalk painting it. I painted over the drawer pulls and topped it with a piece of granite. It photographs a bit darker than it really is.
It was in my grandparents house as long as I can remember, and I think it was probably new in the late 40s/early 50s. Not an antique, just old, and they made hundreds/maybe thousands of them.
