Avocado Tree Broken in the Wind?

I discovered that the top 80% of my avocado broke off in the wind storm today. What do I do to protect it and help it to heal?

This shouldn't be a problem. Normally avocado trees need a good cutting back after bearing fruit. When we trim the trees we always cut off the tops of the trees and the top branches.

Your tree is rather large and needs to be trimmed back. If you don't have the knowledge or resources to trim the tree, you'll need to call a gardener to do this for you.

The top of the tree will grow back again and produce new branches. Most of the time this is excellent for your tree and yields a higher crop next year.
