I can't figure out what's happening with my avocado tree. It was grown at home and is about 2 yrs old. It was fine until about 1 month ago. We live in southern California so the climate should be perfect. Poor little guy; I want to save it. Any suggestions of what it can be?
Thx

Trees like this needed to be planted in the yard and receive direct sunlight. In California not far from where you are living they grow lots of avocados in Fallbrook. Your tree may need to be translated in to a larger pot and get some new soil. When moving the tree to a new post do not just lift it out with the dirt that is already in the post you need to shake off this first and free up the roots of the tree. Check the root for any type of sickness. There are a lot of time in California that plants become sick when the pots get infested with ants. Now plant the tree in a large pot and use all new soil. Just water it once a week when it is dry. No need to water it daily.
There are a few causes for this - Over exposure to elements, changes in soil, root diseases, insect damage. To help trim off brown leaves, this will create more oxygen. Direct sun, make sure roots have room to spread.
Thanks. It gets a lot of sun most of the day especially in the afternoon. I will trim off the brown leaves and water less and see how that works. I may need a bigger pot?
