Avocado Tree Left Out in Freezing Weather?

Avocado Tree Left Out in Freezing Weather - dead looking potted treeI have an avocado tree grown from a seed. It was accidentally left on the porch during a overnight freeze. The leaves have all fallen off and the new dark green growth has blackened and is now decaying. Should I cut below the decaying part and hope for the best?

Sorry to hear your plant was frozen. Poor thing! I hate cold weather, so I can empathize!

You don't say what zone you are in, so this info may or many not help you:

You can contact your local home extension office and find the best thing to do for your growing zone:

Sending up lots of healing prayers for your tree!! Post back on its progress!!
