When purchasing any produce or not just produce but any food related items - do not be fooled by non-transparent packaging.
Example: These organic red potatoes - the front of the packaging is a red/pink-color from afar the potatoes look perfect and you'd just grab and go = selling tactic.
I like to pick out my produce, or ones that I can clearly see (not packaging that tricks me) unless it's really cheap.

This is good. I think my next post will be on deceptive packaging and advertising. I bought a package of deli meat and noticed it said 'Sliced fresh daily'. That tells us nothing, really. It could be sliced daily from a year old ham.
Totally! Is it pre-packaged sealed? If so, how would we know it's sliced daily? Is there an expiration date of the next day if it's sliced daily?
Lots of deceptive packaging and advertising that we need to be alert of.
I was thinking of you last week when my husband bought a bag of potatoes, thinking they were Yukon Gold. It was just the packaging and it even had the word "gold" on it somewhere, like the brand name. He was so mad because he loves Gold potatoes. I was annoyed, but I needed any potato ;)
