I have been using Avon's Skin So Soft for many years in the summer to repel mosquitoes when I golf or work in the garden.

You must have very gentle mosquitoes where you live. Here in northern Saskatchewan the only repellants that work contain a high percentage of Deet. Our mosquitoes laugh at Avon Skin So Soft or Listerine or anything like that! However, the new clip-ons from Off also work.
There's nothing special about Skin So Soft - baby oil works too.
Glad to report that this works on a misty night on a Virginia river. We lived on our boat, so couldn't get away by moving to land.
