Bacon/Cheese Melt Loaf

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf unsliced white bread - the kind that is braided is great)
  • 6-8oz. Swiss cheese slices
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3 Tbsp. mustard
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1/3 cup dry instant chopped onions

Directions:

Cut bread in 1 inch slices almost through to the bottom crust. Cream together butter, onions, and mustard. Spread creamed mixture on both sides of every other slice. Insert cheese slices between cuts with spread mixture. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Press loaf together. Arrange bacon slices over the top of loaf. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes until bacon is crisp and cheese is melted. Serves 6-8.
