Bagel in a CD Case

Bronze Post Medal for All Time! 239 Posts

Bagel sandwich has been placed in the case.Maybe CDs are a bit "old hat" now, but many of us still use them and I am sure most of us would find an old CD container stashed away somewhere in the nether regions of a store cupboard.

Did you know they are just the right size for a bagel or a stack of bagels if you have a big tall one? Brilliant for keeping your lunchtime bagel air tight and un-squashable until it is time to eat.

Take it to work with you and you can guarantee that your colleagues will either say "whoa! what a brilliant idea" or they will look at you as if you are completely barking mad. Either way I think this is an eccentrically brilliant idea. Have a go!

An uncut bagel.

I was confused at first, thinking you were referring to a "jewel case", which is in no way thick enough for any bagel I've ever seen! Only when I scrolled down to the last picture did I realize you were referring to the cases that stacks of new CDs are sold in, LOL!

I have a couple of the very tall ones, with the spindle inside. I could remove the spindle and carry 2 or 3 bagels! This actually is a pretty clever use for a shorter case, so thumbs up!

Thumbs down you must not do this. In this plastic age some is made for food and some has toxic chemicals in it. Unless your container is specifically made to hold food you must not put food in it. That goes for plastic bags also. Use food containers for food.

You do have a valid point Lilac and thankyou for pointing this out, but considering that not much of the food is in contact with the plastic, that it is only in the container for a few hours and that it is kept cool and certainly won't be heated in the container, I don't think that is much of a worry.

Pixiedust7 - you don't need to remove the spindle, just make sure your filling doesn't cover the hole in the bagel
