Bail Wire on Kenmore Ice Maker Not Resetting?

The ice machine is making ice. The rakes go around, they lift out the cubes, the tray fills up with water for the next batch. When this is happening the bail wire lifts slightly to get out of the way from the falling cubes. The problem is the bail wire stays up. So without manually dropping the bail wire the next cycle won't begin. I guess you could say it's a semi automatic ice machine.

There could be a problem with the bail arm inside the ice maker. The arm seems to be locking on its own. Try bending the arm down just a bit to see if this corrects the problem. Also check to see if you can order and extension for the arm. This will help shut off the ice maker sooner.
